About The Designer:
Deja
Deja van Alphen is a characteristically bold, driven, and determined individual with a creative mindset. She is what others have described her as a “Human Wikipedia”. Deja takes her creative designs further with the addition of colour psychology, history, interest in behaviour analysis & analytics, research & development skills and implements them into their designs to make them more dynamic, diverse, and deep.
Deja didn’t start off as a Designer. Their background comes from a bachelors of World History while minoring in Human Rights and Human Diversity (Human Rights Law & Poli. Sci.), and Philosophy. Research is their strong suit, and they will deep dive into anything and everything to make sure your design has a deep and personal impact not just to your audience, but also to you. They use their personal love of psychology to make their designs more impactful so the viewer feels more than just a story, they feel the visual experience and feel seen.
As a graphic designer, Deja is persistent in making sure the world around her sees the messages, stories, and dreams that people have to share. They currently run a graphic design podcast called DesignTea.
About the Podcast
This isn’t just a podcast—it’s a design podcast.
Jokes aside, the DesignTea podcast is here to teach, to learn, and to bring the understanding of WHAT, WHY, and HOW graphic design, and design in general, is important in our world. As the digital age continues forward, as the looming fears over AI grows, and as we all get continuously bombarded with information, DesignTea is designed (hehe) to break the barrier and help designers navigate this world moving forward.
We talk History of Design, People of the Design World, Concepts, Accessibility, and more.
DesignTea’s Goal
Design is a way of life. Our Goal at DesignTea is simple: Collaborate, Learn, and Educate. We are here to show that designers as a whole are important, that design is what makes the world as colourful and as aesthetic as it can be.
